Business Developer

Pioneer Packaging is a custom solutions-based provider of packaging and automated equipment. We are in the SW region of the United States with a worldwide customer footprint. Primary duties of the Business Developer are to identify qualified business opportunities, document opportunities into the CRM, acquire and manage new client relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B packaging sales as well as skills related to strategic analysis and marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with our clients, negotiating pricing and closing deals. Pioneer will rely on you to develop a strategic business plan to include annual forecast and provide weekly update performance against plan. Understanding the importance of daily use of a CRM is critical to your success.
Examples of Essential Functions
- Regular weekly contact with potential and existing accounts
- Partner with Design, Customer Service and Management teams to develop in-depth relationships
- Qualifying, following-up and documenting all sales related information within the company CRM daily
- Maintain a list of active prospects for new account development
- Analyzing sales information to identify trends in clients’ business and utilizing this data to grow sales and profits within existing accounts
- Participation in ongoing sales development and packaging solution-based training
- A commitment to becoming a packaging solution-based expert
Qualification Guidelines
Education/Training/Experience
- College degree or equivalent work experience in a sales related field
- 1-3 years of B2B sales experience preferred, but will consider recent college graduates with relevant course studies
- Sales training graduate is preferred.
- Packaging design experience is preferred
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of all MS Office programs and use of a CRM
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Can demonstrate packaging solution based problem-solving skills
- Risk based thinking (recommendations for reducing risk)
- Knowledge of computer software, specifically Microsoft Outlook and Excel Spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally
- Capable of successfully meeting deadlines
- Must be able to read and write clearly in English
- Bi-lingual is preferred
- Provide customer on-site inventory as necessary
Physical Elements
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to use a telephone and computer for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, sit and walk frequently
